KEEPIN’ It COOL WITH KAPPU

OUR FIRST EVER RTD / SINGLE FORMAT / ONE CUP CANS ARE AVAILABLE NOW!!

We are so very excited to introduce our brand new canned sake, Kappu (or, “cup" in Japanese, カップ). We finally did it!!

Customers have been asking us for a single-format option for a while now (& we love one-cup sake too), so we decided to do some research… finally, we found the cutest can we could get- at 7.5oz, the ideal size for a cup of sake on the go.

Inspired by the one-cup sake brands lining the shelves in Japan and many shops throughout NYC, plus our summer grill outs in front of the brewery after long moromi days, and also casual dining on the patios and rooftops of our favorite bars & restaurants- we’re joining the party.

SO WHAT’S IN THE CAN?

We used the same ingredients and base recipe that you can expect from our flagship sake styles, but the cans are 14% abv (instead of our typical 16%), to make for a slightly lighter body and sippable experience:

WHEN CAN I HAVE SOME?

We officially have Kappu for sale at the taproom- available in four packs for you to bring home with you! Plus, a few of our wholesale customers will have their first trays of cans delivered this week, so keep an eye out, and definitely let us know of any favorite wine shops, bars, and restaurants where you’d like to see kappu on the shelves/menus!!

Of course, we couldn’t announce kappu without a party, so this Friday, July 4th, grab your best beach-themed attire and come celebrate with us at the brewery. We’ll have single cans available to pop open, a fun Photo Booth set up, live jazz, and a special grill-out surprise. Details below- can’t wait to see you there!!

HOW’D WE CAN IT?

You may have noticed that in a brewery of our size, there’s not much room for a canning line! Special thanks to Iron Heart Canning for their mobile canning expertise. We’ve been working together to find the perfect size can and to prepare everything we needed to make it happen… turns out, a lot goes into each and every can to make sure it’s just right! We were in such good hands with their hardworking, professional team.

We also want to thank our friends at Hana Mackgeolli, KCBC and Strong Rope Brewery for letting us observe their canning days, and for encouraging us on this journey. We would have been way to nervous without your help, so thanks for showing us the ropes!

KANPAI WITH KAPPU!

We hope you have so many kanpai moments with kappu :) Send us photos enjoying kappu with your favorite meals, at your favorite venues, and with your favorite people! Here are a few of ours so far:
