Gallery Reception: Many Moon by Jean Chung

Join us for the opening of the newest gallery at the taproom!

"Many Moon" records a series of drawings rendering illusions of phasing in Anthropocene reality — phases of grass growing amidst darkness, sedimentation, moss and moons; as well as the process of drawing itself, a slow collecting of graphite and dust atop each gestural impression. Each drawing holds both familiar forms and an echoing premonition, caught in the midst of reflecting and refracting, forming a certain kaleidoscopic vision of reality at the world’s edge.

Jean Chung is an artist, writer and organizer currently living in New York City. Her research examines the potential of fantasy and day-dreams as entries into world-building, holding these imaginations as alternatives to dominant narratives faced in experiences of migration, double consciousness and digital age.
